LCC-Lite for cost-benefit analyses

For investment choices, usually the net present value method is used. In our view this manner  is outdated; we can do better than just creating an amount that shows that one option is cheaper or more profitable than another option.

With LCC-Lite you can also calculate the annual cost price, determine the economic replacement moment, visualize the major costs over the life span, show the moment after which you will make profit, your funding need, the payback time, ROI and IRR, the cash flow, company tax impact, the effects of cost increases, et cetera.
LCC-Lite also contains functionality to calculate the so called “complementary costs” (future costs which can be controlled).

These functions all are available in LCC-Lite, an easy to use toolkit for decision makers on all business levels.
Usually the LCC-Lite trainings are `in company'. However October 4th en 5th 2007 there will be an open workshop. Please contact us for more information about LCC-Lite and the workshop.

LCC-AM/QM

While LCC-Lite is suitable for calculations on project level, LCC-AM/QM works on company level. The biggest customer of S&G owns more than 14 million assets, which are one-to-one processed into LCC-AM/QM.

With LCC-AM/QM we can calculate the financial, economic and technical future costs and activities over a long period. We are able to valuate the assets, a function that is useful in case of take-over, regulation or regarding to company tax issues and investment planning.

With the Quantitative Maintenance (QM) function of LCC-AM/QM we can investigate all maintenance activities.

There are four types of analyses:
* what has happened in the past;
* life span analyses;
* maintenance effect analyses;
* projection of future maintenance.

The analyses are presented in charts and reports. LCC-AM/QM creates a “tree of charts” in which you can group and level (up to 9 levels deep) the assets and events in any way you like. By using different viewing techniques and producing a lot of dedicated charts you can obtain an excellent insight. You can use this insight to make a projection of the future, using diverse scenario's, in terms of financial, economic and technical aspects.

LCC for accountants

For KPMG accountants, S&G and partners has created a simplified version of the program LCC AM/QM. With this program, the accountants are able to analyse a fixed asset file, to produce a various number of charts and to determine if the book value represents the actual value of the assets of the organisation, based on IFRS regulations. In most cases, the value does not match IFRS standards, and is too low due to the way of depreciation, take-overs and not taking into account overhead related to investments.

With this module, it is also possible to produce a calculation of future capital costs.
